Now, for all of us staying at home...
If you want to know what the weather's like at Jambo, try subscribing to
Weathervane through www.merc.com. It allows you to receive, via e-mail, up
to 15 times a day, a statement of current weather conditions, and a three
day forecast for as many locations as you wish. (Subscribe using the Jambo
zip code, 22428)
It's also a good service for those of us who spend too much time in the
office. You can check the internet to see what the weather's like outside
We are finishing the last newsletter for Jambo Troop 933, Cascade Pacific
Council, to be distributed Saturday night at an "all required" last minute
meeting of parents and adults. The scouts are to attend in full class A's,
with all their bags packed for final inspection. Then Tuesday AM (6AM, no
less) they meet at Portland International for departure. It'll be quite a
scene: 600 scouts and scoutmasters, all in uniform! (spread throughout the
day, of course).
