When I invited my first year scouts and myself to attend summer camp with
a neighboring troop with more resources, I asked the SM how he avoided
favoritism (and, recommended that I avoid it) at camp.
He suggested that I help anyone who asks me for help while at camp, but
not to start helping when my son asks, and don't stop helping after I've
helped my son. It worked.
