I can't thank the list enough for the comments and idea's that I received
regarding the whole process of my son's Eagle BOR...through the COH. Many of
you wrote with both pro/con information since my first post back in March.
The determination and courge that my son endured though the whole progess
was a big lesson to him. He set a goal ...........an HE achieved it.
Just to update you all regarding my son's ECOH/PALM........The ceremony was
beautiful...........it was nice to know that my son wanted change and at the
last minute it all pulled together well. His palm was presented to him
during the ceremony but since this was the first in 14 years many people did
not understand what it was. Although we had been in close contact with the
Scoutmaster we were informed at the last minute that the CC was upset since
it is "the committee's job" to plan the program. One of the "traditions" of
the troop is after a boy is presented with his rank advancement he then
lights a candle infront of the rank......well this time ALL the ranks were
lit (only the 5th time in troop history). My son did put together a picture
show to the music "Fly Eagle Fly" so when the ECOH began, a letter of
congrats was read from the musician of the song James Rogers (big surprise to
my son) and then the show began.....this is something that "HE" was able to
contribute to the program and it was very well received. As the program
continued and the changes that we added did all flow well was a big relief
for me. Well his goals now are to stay as active with the troop and to
continue to earn more palms and...........religious metal. I will "continue"
to support his goals....
