Twist on Early AoL

The recent comments on the "early" cross-over is going in a save
file for a while.
I have a different twist on a similar situation I'm looking for
clarification and ,I'm hoping, support.
My Cub Scout was double promoted from 3rd to 5th (called skipping
in the ol' days). He is in the gifted education program, an aggressive,
self-directed learner (when the topic grabs his attention) is at least a
foot and 20 pounds larger than age peers and has strong social and

attaining the AoL according to requirements. In January, he will turn 10.
He is one of the two most active members of his Den which was formed as a

The book says 6 months after 4th grade (ie 5th) with AoL. That's
