The District Award of MERIT is given to individuals who show exceptional
and outstanding service to Scouting in the District. In our District, we
use the following guidelines:
1. Have a minimum of 5 years of Registration with the BSA.
2. Have a record of noteworthy service to the District (Helping with
District Events, Camporee's, Training, etc.)
3. Have outside affiliations with their Community, religious organization,
or service club.
4. Be nominated by someone in the District before being considered for the

December 1st. (Our District Dinner is in late January) The nominating
committee, which is comprised of past recipients of the Award of Merit,
meet and choose from the nominations. Nominations are not considered for
former Professional Scouters within 5 years of leaving the profession.
