In our Pack we camp 3 to 4 times a year( 5 are planned for this year).
These expeditions are usually just overnight and range from the local
council campground (two nights) to state parks to public campgrounds, to
the Cubmaster's backyard. Most involve side trips to historical sites
(but in Virginia EVERYTHING is historical).
Last fall we had a two day trip to a naval base and stayed in the
"barracks". Fortunately, a den leader is th eformer base commander.
All of our trips are classified as "Family" trips with parents and sibs
encouraged to attend.
I must add that we are a small Pack averaging 30-40 cubs and most of
our parents are involved. We had alost 200 at our last Blue & Gold
Camping and cubbing works great for us. Most of our "lost cubs" happen
due to parent job relocation not because of non-enjoyment.
