In response to the comment that having Cub Scouts camping too young
spoils it for when they hit Boy Scouts, the only time I've seen this is
with the location.
The only place you can legally take Cub Scouts camping as a cub scout
event (as opposed to family camping) is at a Council owned camp. My Cubs
love to camp and wished we would camp more. When they get to Boy scouts
they seem to retain the enthusiasm for camping, but HATE to attend the
council owned camps because they have already been there a gazillion times.
Most troops I know do not camp much within our council as a result even
though our local camp, Tanah-Keeta, is a nice camp.
