The merit badge sash is only for merit badges. You will occasionally see
a Scout with other badges, especially past rank badges, but this practice
Scouts have other ways of showing off badges which reflect past
activities and achievements: sew them on a blanket, vest, pack, etc. But
they don't go on the sash!
