A few weeks ago I read an article in a Doctors office magazine (it was
current, relatively speaking) about the first transcontinital motorway.
It was called the Lincoln Highway and was built using private funds from
an auto maker, a tire commpany and an oil company back in the '20s. I
believe it later became know as U.S. Route 30.
TO THE POINT: Appearently 3000 scounts were recruited to make and set-up
