As a counselor for Hiking, Backpacking and Camping merit badges, I would
accept the Philmont trek and the prep hikes for any combination of those.
badges, (in my not-so humble opinion) are intended to recognize a basic
in the subject of the M.B., not an amount of "work."
By the way - have a great time at Philmont. "I want to go back."
