Need a place to stay?

I often share what I find here on the list with my non-computerized
assistants and our PLC; recently at a campout the discussion came around
to Troops that travel across countery - like many of you will for Philmont
and / or the Jamboree. Although we are not able to make any of these
types of trips this year (maybe some other time!) the boys were interested
in hearing that Troops often need a place to stay for the night and
thought it would be "way cool" to meet Scouts traveling 'cross country and
maybe hear first hand about the neat places you guys get to go. So...
If any of you are traveling across the USA this summer with your Scout
unit (or any other time for that matter) and find your unit traveling
through the Mid-South - Memphis, Tennessee area let me know! Our Troop is
located in West Memphis, Arkansas; just outside of downtown Memphis; we
have an old house next to our Church that is used for our Scout Hut and
would be glad to offer you a place to stay on your journey. The Hut may
not be Holiday Inn or even the Days Inn; but, they can't beat our prices
(FREE!) and like the man says "We'll leave the light on for you!".
I think this would be a great opportunity for our Troop of fairly young
scouts to meet units from other parts of the country and hear about
Philmont, National Jamboree or other neat places you will travel to.
Maybe, just maybe, this will encourage our PLC to start planning a trip
for our Troop for next summer.
You can e-mail me privately at "firstname.lastname@example.org".
