SM minute idea

I recently read an article which I thought had a good idea for a
Scoutmaster's Minute. Here's what I came up with:
ACTIONS ARE PERMANANT
There's an old story about a father who hands his son a hammer, a nail & a
block of wood. "Pound the nail into the block of wood" he instructed. Then
the father said: "Now pull out the nail". When the son had done that the
father said: "Now pull out the nail hole". The son said: "You know that's
impossible. What's the joke?".
The father explained to his son that you can never undo what has been done.
And this is true. There is a lasting consequence to everything you do. If
you do or say unkind things to another you cannot undo them or unsay them.
If you break something it cannot be made whole again. If you use drugs the
effect of those drugs will always be present.
So remember this if you are tempted to do or say unkind things to someone
else. The results of your words or actions will always be there.
