We could not have asked for better weather this past weekend for our Outdoor
Webelos Leader and Basic training!
We had 18 leaders complete Basic and 15 complete OWL! (Okay, most of the
OWL people took Basic too, so the numbers are *slighty* misleading :)
I received extremely good feedback and compliments from the leaders who went
through the OWL course. I did not get a chance to talk to that many leaders
who took Basic, and although the evaluations are not all in.....*I* think
it was a great success.
Now for the lack of people pre-registering. Due to circumstances, I started
Basic training an hour later than was published in flyers. The people that
pre-registered (3) recieved a call explaining to them while the time move
and giving them the option of attending the class that the county agent
was giving from the horticulture office. They were given the choice of
coming at the later time for Basic or also attending this program. I
contacted the people who only wanted OWL and explained the new schedule.
I'm sure some evaluations will reflect the time change was a big inconvience,
and to be honest. I know that I would probably have complained too, except
*I* would have pre-registered and received the phone call! I did point out
to the people this is another reason why we ask them to sign up early.
Overall, I think the course was a great success. The staff (for the most
part, all green at this) did a FANTASTIC job. Thanks to everyone who offered
me support and some screens to cry and moan on! You were right, it works
