Matt asked what difference is there between US and UK wood Badge Staff
Beads. As the Resource center staff explained it, in the UK Scout
Association, Wood Badge Staffers no longer wear three, four or more
beads to signify serving on staff of a pending Course or as a Course
Director, etc. While, eh Whilst there may be some exceptions, they
said all Wood Badgers now wear the standard two-bead set.
As for the actual differences between BSA issue and UK issue,
the Woolen Scarf is somewhat heavier than my BSA issues scarf and the
Woggle is larger and sturdier. The boot lace is finer and the beads
look the same. The BIG difference is They Came From Gilwell. I don't
collect or trade patches, but I do like my UK Regalia, and if the
number of requests to post the price list is any indication, so do a
lot of BSA WB-ers.
