John's post reminded me of something I've been wanting to run by the list
as a brainteaser.
We all know how to find a north/south line by using a watch with a
standard watch face--that is, with 12 numerals arranged in a circle, and
an hour and minute hands. Right? Check the BSA Handbook if you don't know.
But--for an A plus and a gold star, how to you find a north/south line
using a *digital* watch? I believe the handbook says you can't do it with
a digital watch (please don't flame me if I am misremembering--don't have
the book in front of me, fer cryin' out loud!) But in fact, you can.
I await your answers. Seriously, this is a good way to test the
ingenuity of your venture scouts.
