Once again I thank you for your words of encouragement and wisdom.
My Scout's mom called on Tuesday as I was leaving for the meeting and
asked if Mike had called me yet. When I told her no, she became quite
angry and said that he had promised her that he would call me. She
told me that he was going to remain in Scouting but was taking a two
month leave of absence to pursue baseball. She confided that he had
not entirely changed his ways as of yet.
Yesterday, I still had not heard from him and his mom called again
and asked again if he had called. He had not and she was angry again.
I checked with my other leaders and they too had not heard from him.
My SA who lives next door to Mike, said when his son went over to
give Mike some Troop information, Mike was not allowed to even leave
the house to go on the porch.
So, whether he returns or not, I won't know until September, because
he has missed the deadline for all of our summer time activities and
was not eligible to go on them anyway because he has not made
reparation to the local Scout Camp for carving his initials all over
That is life here in Troop 135. Happy Holiday to all!
Yours in Scouting,
Scoutmaster, Linda K. Clossen
