I do not think you are implying that spanking is for scouts. I do believe
that all youth should be held accountable for there actions. ADD is not an
excuse for misbehavior. If we acknowledge it and act appropriately we can
help these boys gain control of their behavior before it becomes a situation
requiring punishment. Understand the ADD boys have a hard time controlling
them selves. Gentle reminders when they start losing control many time will
help them recognize the signs of when they need to make a effort to correct
something going wrong. This can help them learn to live with there problem.

We are so quick to jump on the easy ADHD diagnosis. I, too, did it. My
husband also is very quick to blame PMS whenever I am angry with him for not
doing what he had promised to do for several YEARS!
How about just ending all these "labels" and deal with each kid as needed. I
still believe in "spare the rod, spoil the child."
I am sure I will get "killed" on this, but, be that as it may, I am tired of
all this newfangled parenthood while 12 yr olds are getting pregnant, doing
drugs and murdering people. What those kids needed was a good stiff kick in
As an aside, does "reasoning" really work? My sister and her husband tried
that angle with their first-born, only to discover that he was 50% deaf!
