My studies are weighing me down, I am no longer able to devote the time
necessary to read messages here.
I have had about enough of this list, it is sad when you have to put people
in a kill list on a scouting channel, it is even worse when people refuse
to answer you when you write to them. THIS IS NOT SCOUTING.
Toleration and World Wide Brotherhood is how I have described this list to
many of my friends, many have subscribed, all have left. A persons opinion
is to be valued, for years I have tolerated the flag waving "Americans are
the best" from a minority, yet when my wife has her say, she gets put down.
THIS IS NOT SCOUTING.
A couple of years back Bill Nelson (for what he nobly considered the right
reasons) destroyed rec.scouting (I got offended being refered to as a
misc), I tried to have a conversation about it with him, but he refuses to
answer my emails. THIS IS NOT SCOUTING.
I have enjoyed many of the threads that happen here, and have used in my
own weekly programs many of the ideas.
Sadly in a few years I may have to leave Australia and work in hte United
States, it is a time when I will have to break my 20 years of service as a
leader, I find that many Packs would not want me there because I have no
children, I am also offended by the sexist attitude of "no girls", as I
have pointed out several times before, that type of message in Australia is
illegal, if I wrote it, I could be fined or imprisoned. I have no wish to
belong to an organisation that does not offer equal opportunity.
To my friends I bid you farewell, I ask you all to stay in contact.
I am afraid it is time for me to leave because a monority of the people and
things that are said here I consider NOT SCOUTING.
I expect to get flamed for this - do not post to the list, I will
unsubscribe as soon as I receive notification that the message has been
accepted. I welcome (and would like to hear) constructive critism. Hate
mail and harrasment will be forwarded to Jon Edison and your postmaster at
