I'm brand new to Scouts-L (one day!), and was going to "lurk" for a while
before posting, but your post struck a nerve. Please let me know if I
I recently tried to help a troop with a similar, but thankfully less severe,
problem. I know this is extremely difficult, and that the easy solution
for you would be to get rid of this trouble-maker.
I'm jumping to conclusions from the information you gave us, but it doesn't
sound as if this Scout has a very healthy home environment.
Please try, if at all possible, to remember that this young man needs
Scouting *way* more than your well-behaved Scouts.
Finally, if you try, but fail and lose this Scout, try not to beat yourself
up over it. There is only so much you can do to overcome the parts of his
upbringing that are out of your control.
