Since this is purely a philosophical question, I will respond. I would say
this in answer to your question:
**IF** (and that's really what this is about) Jere had a loaded hand gun in
his bag, then yes. I mean, c'mon folks, I really don't want the "#1 Boy
Scout" representing me in this manner. I've never "forgotten" that I had a
loaded hand gun (which you have to have a specialized permit for). And,
okay, just in case you had forgotten, HELLO: you're at the AIRPORT. They
check for those kinds of things. 8-) I mean, it just doesn't make any
sense to me.
DISCLAIMER: I am not accusing anyone on the basis of claims made by the
media. I am merely responding to the philosophical question posed: "[If a
Chief Scout Executive carries a loaded gun onto an airplane], do you feel
it is in the best interest of the Boy Scoust for [him/her] to resign?"
