Here in Western Alaska Council, I've seen all the above. A room at a
restaurant, a pot-luck dinner in a church/school, commercially-catered
dinner in church/school, and self-catered dinner in church school.
All have advantages and disadvantages. There always seems to be someone
who will take the chance to show off culinary skills for a self-catered
dinner. But it's a BIG job, and it takes a very dedicated scouter to
cheerfully repeat the job.
