To all subscribers of SCOUTS-L, Greetings from the Channel
District of the Transatlantic Council of Boy Scouts of America.
This afternoon the 1997 Spring Camporee will begin on the site
of the World's First Scout Campout. The Nammassakett Chapter of the
Order of the Arrow is hosting the District's Boy Scouts and Second
Year Webelos at Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour in England. =20
A very low-impact camping event, the Camporee will mark the
90th anniversary in August of this year of the Founder's First Campout
for twenty boys. We will remember the entire world-wide brotherhood
of Scouting as we celebrate and have fun. There will be an OA
Selection ceremony and presentation of Wood Badge Beads. A full
report will be posted early next week.
Yours in Scouting,=20
