I am a parent and a cub scout leader, and a committee chair--and I have told
my son he cannot participate in scouts before. When I discipline him, I
usually do so my grounding him. If I ground him, I am not going to let him
do something that he likes to do that day. There would be no purpose in
I will do the same thing with any activity he is in. If it soccer practice
time or he wants to go roller blading, and he has not done homework, personal
stuff, or has misbehaved--I am going to do something about it.
You as a parent would not want someone to walk up to you to say that you
cannot displine your child (not punish). Why do you plan to do that to
another parent? Yes, I do know the importance of scouting.
