Right. The CE gets graded on the number of troops he serves, and he
wants to drop a troop? A phrase from Hamlet about something smelly comes
to mind... :-).
I just paid $45 to have my son join a local troop. For that, he gets
registered, Boys Life, and a neckerchief. Rest of the money goes towards
badges, etc. Camping fees are extra.
If you want a less expensive scouting experience, find an LDS troop.
They won't charge you anything.
