"Eagle Scout Rank Application" form. The Scout tells me that though he
believes in God, his is not a religious family and therefore he has no
affiliation with a church.
So, what does he put under Requirement 2 on the form where it asks for
the name of a Religious person. In my review of all info
available...primarily the requirements for Eagle Scout in the Handbook,
nowhere does it mention the requirement to be a church going person.
So I guess my question is .. if he leaves this line blank.. will the form
be sent back to him.....
I was in this position in 1995 when I was completeing my application. I
believe in a higher being, not necessarilary a God. I also don't attend
church at all, and was never baptised/christiened (sp?) You do not need
a signature or letter by a religous leader to pass the BOR. My SM, when
he saw that I didn't have a signature there and hence a letter of
reccomendation, asked me about my religious ideas. As long as the scout
is able to answer the question comprehensively and is able to convince
the BOR that he infact does believe in a higher being/God, there should
be no problem.
