Well, Troop 24 offered 39 nights of camping this year (actually 40, but
one night was cancelled by flooding -- we weren't worried about the rain,
but the road to the site was under 3 feet of water). More than half the
Scouts had at least 20 nights of camping, and one Scout had 37 nights.
Summer camp accounted for 13 nights, leaving 26 nights for the remainder
of the year.
That 39 nights did not include OA (up to 3 ordeals attended at 2 nights
each), conclave (another 2 nights), Junior Leader Training (6 nights),
or summer camp staff (up to 56 nights). But the Scouts participating in
these activities pretty much have already earned Camping MB.
And it is true that few of our Scouts have earned Camping MB during their
first year. But they could if they wanted to.
