Here's something on the lighter side :-)
Recently I have noticed the apparent use of Scout Uniforms in the Movies
and on TV. I was wondering if they were using real uniforms or making
them look just close enough to fool the viewers. It appears others here
have noticed this too. It was mentioned at a Leader's meeting recently.
Today I saw Indianna Jones and the Last Crusade on HBO and it sure looked
like the "young Indy" at the beginning of the movie was in a vintage Boy
Scout Uniform and the insignia on the Campaign Hat looked like the First
Class rank insignia in pin form.
On a sit-com Head of the Class (I think) one of the young men wore a Boy
Scout Uniform complete with merit badge sash and Scouting was mentioned
in the script, the kid had all the badges except Bugaler.
On a Vintage Johnny Carson shown on the Family Channel, Johnny, Doc and
Ed were in what looked like Scout Uniforms, they had the red writing over
the right pocket, for a sketch with the actress who plays the "Dumb
Blonde" in a Girl Scout uniform.
Does anyone know if the actors were legitimate Scouts or has all this
been faked? I've had kids in my Pack ask about this, too.
