And that, for the sake of the son and the sons of all the other fathers
associated with this troop, is precisely why this SM needs to take a hike.
His son can't progress with him hovering around. The other scouts won't
elect him to OA because he's a jerk, and having his father as SM allows
him to get away with being a jerk. The other scouts aren't stupid: they
know favoritism when they see it, and they don't like it.
