Fellow Scouters...I need some assistance in identifying two small patches I
received as a youth. They are both the same size, approximately .75 inches
by 1.25 inches. They have a very light blue background and a white
embroidered border. The only difference between the two is that one has two
embroidered white stars, and the other has three embroidered white stars.
They were worn underneath the troop numbers on the left sleeve (or was it
under the U.S. flag on the right?). I received them at different times as a
member of Troop 79, in the Central Ohio Council (now Simon Kenton Council).
If I remember correctly, someone said something about them being some sort
of Presidential Unit Award. Does anyone have an idea of what these
actually were awarded for?
