Let me ask for some help primarily from our Canadian Listee's.
(anyone with info or past experiences is welcome to jump in)
Our troop is planning what we call a "Low, High Adventure".
We call it "Low" because it is open to any boy regardless of
age or rank.
This year I've suggested that we target Ottawa as our destination.
>From Michigan we would stop perhaps in Peterborough to see the
only remaining lift locks in the world, stop in Toronto to
visit Ontario Place and the Science Museum, and stop in Ottawa
to see the seat of the Canadian Government. A side benefit, of
course, is a better understanding of Canada and the Canadian
What I'm looking for is two-fold:
1. Places to stay overnight enroute and in Toronto and Ottawa.
(read that "cheap places")
2. Things to see/do/visit.
Several years ago, on the FIDOnet Scouter Computer Echo, someone
mentioned an old Gaol in Ottawa that could be used over-night, but
I've lost my copy of the message. It would also be to our
advantage to have a government contact in Ottawa that might
facilitate our admission to Parliament and other Buildings.
Also if anyone has specific websites that they want to recommend
as additional resources, that would also help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
