We are taking a trip to central america soon and were wondering if you had
the formula for purifying water with a clorox solution
One of our older books gives the formula of 8 drops of clorox per gallon of
water 9 (12 drops if the water is turbid). However this is no longer a
recommended treatment. Iodine tablets are better than chlorine but even
iodine will not kill giardia, according to the sources I checked. I would
recommend that Seth break down and get a good filter. Check out Backpacker
magazine of a few months ago for their "gear guide" rating of filters.
