The locking carabiners or "D" rings are rated at 25 kilo newtons.
My question is what exactly does this mean in terms of how much load
(weight) they will support, or how much weight falling through so much
distance will they stop without breaking?
I know the Newton is defined as that force that will accelerate one
kilogram to 1 meter per second square, but how do you translate this in
to the real world of how much weight it will support or how big a load
it will stop during a fall.
Appreciate any help in the translation.
Thanks, Brian Watkins
