Within the Phoenix metro area, there are several large parks, many of which
have hikes which should be nice this time of year. I know that both
Camelback and the Squaw Peaks have hiking trails. South Mountain park is
the largest city park in the country, and has some trails as well.
When I was in Phoenix a couple of years ago, I made it about half-way up
Camelback. I had to give up when I discovered I was in much worse shape
than I had thought.
Be sure to bring a hat and water, and take other safety precautions for
