I am pleased to announce to the list that Adam J. Zel and Michael R. Kemp
of Troop 25, Juniata Valley Council, Huntingdon, PA have passed their
Eagle Boards of Review and are now waiting for their paperwork to clear.
Adam J. Zel recently transferred to Troop 25 from Troop 5, Lexington, VA,
Stonewall Jackson Council. He was Senior Patrol Leader with Troop 5.
Adam passed his Board of Review with Troop 5 in Lexington on January 7,
1997. He moved to Huntingdon, PA on January 15, transferred to Troop 25
on January 16, and went camping with us on January 17. Adam began his
Boy Scout career with Troop 368 in Newport News, VA in July, 1993. In
November, 1994, he transferred to Troop 5 in Lexington, VA. When his
paperwork clears national, Troop 25 in Huntingdon will be proud to
present Adam with his Eagle. Adam will attend the 1997 National Jamboree
with the contingent from Stonewall Jackson Council. If anyone cares to
send Adam any congratulatory e-mails, please send them to me privately.
I would especially like to present Adam with congratulatory letters from
anyone who may have known him from his former Troops and Councils. In
the short time that Adam has been with Troop 25, he has definitely been
an example and inspirition to the younger Scouts and shown that he is
well deserving of the rank of Eagle.
Michael R. Kemp passed his Eagle Board of Review on his fifteenth
birthday, February 26, and is also waiting for is paperwork to clear
national. For his Eagle project, Mike chose to refurbish the exterior of
a consession booth operated by the Huntingdon Area High School Band
Boosters that was severly damaged during flooding that occurred during
the winter and spring of 1996. He has served in many leadership
positions in the Monaken Lodge 103, Order of the Arrow as well as in his
Troop. He will be the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 231 at the
1997 National Jamboree. I am doubly proud of Michael, as his father and
his Scoutmaster. If anyone cares to send Michael any congratulatory
e-mails, please send them to me privately.
