First, I want to congratulate Marie on receiving the Silver Beaver! What
a great honor!
I feel adult recognition is necessary. I enjoy at the Blue and Gold
recogizing all the adults that have helped. I also give out the "joke"
awards that seem to go over well with the pack.
The pack awarded me a small trophy for five years of service and a standing
ovation. Was it expected, no...Was it appreciated, yes.
I also introduced a special guest who has helped behind the scenes...my
mom. she got a rousing round of applause and when i got my award and
recognition, I thought she was going to cry.
For all these people do to help the program, the least I can do is
acknowledge them and make sure they get their knots. Half the time the
people don't know how to get them or that they are eligible.
Now a question for Marie, when the Scoutmaster handed you the envelope, was
your first thought, now what do I have to do? :)
