Thanks for the comment on Founder's Day Sarah.
Our celebration of Founder's Day was this year extra special as it included
the presentation of Queen's Scout certificates to two of my Venturers at
Government House this morning. In all there were 25 Premier Award
certificates presented (this is a new recognition just introduced this year
for scouts who have achieved their Adventurer Cord), 30 Queen's Scout
certificates and two Rovers receiving their Baden-Powell Awards.
The weather this morning started out raining (very unusual this time of
year; in past years the heat has always been a major problem, for which
reason they now start the ceremony at 9am before the weather gets too hot)
but during the ceremony outside in the gardens of Government House there
were only a few very light spots of rain towards teh end; hardly enough to
bother anyone. A beautiful setting, and a very nice ceremony. The Governor
(Major-General Michael Jeffery) was a very entertaining speaker and had some
personal comments for each of the award recipients (although occasionally
his lack of detailed experience with scouting showed with some questions he
