It is nevertheless interesting that in many ways Hitler modelled the Hitler
Jugend on a corrupted version of scouting (i.e. Nazi ideology was
substituted for the principles of duty to God and worldwide brotherhood etc.
the are central to scouting) Even Hitler could recognise the powerful
influence of an organisation like scouting and how attractive it could be to
