Thanks, Hank, that's exactly what I was talking about. I sorta knew
that mentioning knots would raise a few hackles, but I hit the send
button anyway. I'm not against knots, I own a Webelos leader one
myself, I just don't think they should be the goal. But if that bit of
candy is what it takes to get someone to volunteer, well then maybe the
Scouting movement is a little better for it. I guess I just long for
that perfect world where folks just contribute because it's the right
thing to do, not for the prestige of having a chest full of medals.
