I can give you one answer. I have been a member our District Eagle Board of
Review for about 25 years - Chair for the last 10-15. During my Chair period
I have asked each Eagle candidate what he thought about allowing girls to be
members of Scout troops. Each has been against the idea!
I think my phraseology passes any bias test and the candidate never learns
what any member of the Board thinks of the possibility. I have asked the
same question randomly in two other areas (all southern states) and the
response has been the same. The unanimity of response has surprised me.
Would bringing the opposite sex into your Troop help them? They
