It is incorrect to refer to Explorers as Explorer Scouts. They are not
Scouts, they are Explorers. This is the national position. However, it is
difficult to convince many of this fact, especially those of us who were
Explorers prior to the acceptance of female members.
Also, related to this discussion: dictionary definition of coed or co-ed
is "a young woman attending a coeducational college or university". Coed
is an abbreviation of coeducational which is the adjective form of
coeducation which is defined as "an educational system in which students of
both sexes attend classes together". Does the Exploring program fit this
latter definition? Who cares?
