On the subject of backpacking stoves, our troop uses the Trangia
stove. It is Swedish made and runs on methylated spirits. We have
found it very suitable because the pots and their support and the
burner nest together well in one package. Also methylated spirits
does not freeze at low temperatures as some gases do. Because the
flame is enclosed it is safer than many other stoves I have seen.
Anyway that's my tuppencehapenny worth.
