"I get the sense that the boys are trying to get by with the
minimum amount of effort, rather than demonstrating their
leadership skills and investing some time to do a more significant
(?) project and "do my best".
By all means talk to your District Advancement Chairman--he or
she must approve the project before it is ever begun. Your
concerns seem very valid, so see what their feelings are on this.
Yes, there is no set number of hours for an Eagle project. We tell
our boys to aim for around 100 man hours. Many in our troop
have gone less than this, but still had excellent projects because
they truly did "do their best."
