I'm the proud mother of an Eagle Scout and a Girl Scout Gold Award
I really like seeing the announcements of the new Eagles.
What distresses me is the occassional comments from people, male and
female, about once being a "Junior Leader" or "Cadette Leader" as if the
Girl Scout program stopped at that point. I wonder where their
daughters are in Scouting. If not still involved, not why not, but what
Program failure or adult interest failure, or both? If we want our sons
to enjoy Boy Scouts, we see to it that he has the equipement he needs
and give support the adult leadership. Do we do the same for our
daughters? Just food for thought.
