sorry you have the flu, hope that you feel better, soon. Hope it's
not that new strain from this fall, I've heard that it is a tough one.
Actually, I'm not thin-skinned, at all. But a scout is Helpful and
Courteous. Just trying to help against those that are thin-skinned.
Re your camp theme...have you thought of making animal masks and
take turns "training" the wild animals? Could be fun to get a line of
elephants to all back and turn at the same time. There are some good mask
helps in the Scout program books, the Cub Fun book, etc. Check your library
under Paper Arts or Paper Crafts. There are usually several books on
making 3-D animal masks there.
Another activity might be a "Clown School". Make rolla-bolla
(balancing) boards w/pvc pipe and boards, juggle bean-bags, spin
plates/balls on fingers or sticks, as well as clown gags like
weight-lifters w/balloons on broomstick dowel (balloons are black and say
"500 Lbs".), confetti"water " in a bucket, etc.
If you have access to AOL, try the key word "Ringling" to get on to
the RB and BBcircus. Or you might just run a search, since it is on AOL (I
don't have AOL, so I'm going on info that my child brought home... It also
says to send your a name and a friend's name to the 3Ring Gazette, POB
39845, Edina, MN 55439 CO796KD for a free newsletter).
The circus is in town next week, and most likely I will be taking my
sons. If I see anything else appropriate for Cubbies, I'll post it.
Hope this helps. Get well, soon.
