3 specific itmes to help you as a new CM:
Go to roundtable,
go to roundtable,
go to roundtable.
Seroiusly, your local monthly Roudtable should give you and your Den Leaders
*everything* needed for the following month's meetings. You should receive
program helps going way beond what is in the official magazine of monthly
themes, as well as ideas, skits, crafts/projects and on and on. You will get
some hands-on practice on what to do for meetings. Example: Our January
Roundtable was an ACTUAL Blue & Gold dinner, complete with opening, skits,
awards, speeches, games, food, and closing. We received example helps,
invitations, etc. Since we are doing our second-ever B&G, (we are 12 months
young), this gave us ideas and practical experience in running one.
Your District leader(s) should be there for questions, as well as giving you
access to other Pack leaders in the "neighborhood." These leaders have
always gone out of their way to help! Use 'em!
I can't say enuf 'bout how these meetings have kept me afloat, especially
through our first year of growing pains.
Hope this helps.
