No cause for concern, Patrick! Only unasked questions are dumb.

Ideally, Scout Sunday and Scout Shabbat (don't know the proper term for
other faiths) would be held during the week of the anniversary of the
founding of BSA, February 8. Since that date is a Saturday, it would be
perfectly reasonable to assume that Feb 9 would be an appropriate day for
Scout Sunday even though it's actually in the next week.
In practice, it's not quite that easy. The chartering organization may
have other plans for the "ideal" date. In trying to schedule a Scout
Shabbat, we sometimes have to work around the b'nei mitzvah (that's
plural for bar mitzvah and/or bat mitzvah) schedule. Some organizations
like to have a joint observance with Girl Scouts, who celebrate their
anniversary in March, and so will schedule Scout Sunday or its equivalent
sometime between. Or even later. We've held Scout Shabbat services in
our council as late as May. This is the first year I can remember it
actually falling on the "ideal" date, Feb 7.
The important thing is to make sure that Scout Sunday/Shabbat/other
religious observance gets on the calendar early. When it's my turn to
contact the rabbi, I try to start pinning down a date in October, right
after the High Holidays so that it gets onto the calendar before something
else. Even then, I'm already a year behind the b'nei mitzvah calendar and
6 months behind the religious school calendar.
As for Scout Sunday, in Troop 24, we have three! Our charter organization
will hold it on March 2, but a nearby Methodist church (sponsor of one of
our feeder packs) held it yesterday, Feb 2, and the Catholic church for a
number of our Scouts will hold it Feb 23. Gives our guys a lot of choices.
