Our troop does not have a special fund for this. There are, however,
general funds available for this. If a Scout family cannot pay the yearly
registration fee or summer camp fee, the parent need simply ask the
committee and we will pay it out of the troop's general funds.
>For ex., funds for summer camp, or equipment like backpacks, etc.
Money for backpacks or other personal equipment has never been approved.
Scouts are given ample chances during troop fund raisers to earn enough
money for these on their own.
>is there a "service" project requirement made of the scout
In general no. But, this year we have some extra money that the committee
decided would be put aside for the Scouts going to Philmont. Each Scout can
get up to $100 towards the trip but must do at least 10 hours of approved
service over and above any required for rank advancement or any Eagle
project. Scouts going to the Canadian Jamboree can get up to $80.
Disbursement of all such funds is approved by the Troop Committee.
