Our troop committee approved a project for scout month that may solve
some problems with scouting celebrations.
Some faiths discourage scouting celebrations as part of their worship
service, for reasons of reverance, etc. Our troop will have a scout
history celebration in conjunction with a large court of honor during
February. Everyone who is a part of the chartered partner (a church) who
is or ever has been in scouting has been invited to bring their
memorabilia to the court of honor. We will all share patches, stories,
photos, etc. Some of our members go back to the 1920s. There are
roughly 30 Eagles (not including the currently registered boys and
leaders of the troop) that will be in attendance.
It should be a good evening, and a fun way to celebrate scout history.
