I've been watching this thread develop. I think it must be great to be able
to go on these wonderful trips every month, for those that can afford them.
But, for those who work hard and participate in the fundraisers but still
can't afford to go, what then? I think, someone needs to bring this troop
back to reality. Doing more with less is not just some PC cliche that's
passed around. How many of us old timers could afford to go camping if they
wanted $40-$50 each month for trips? Not many. So, to expect every boy to
be able to afford $100/month?? That seems more than a bit outrageous.
Camping for the scouts should be affordable. Boy Scouting is something we
should try to make available to all boys, not just the rich. A Boy Scout is
