May I wish all members of SCOUTS-L a very Merry Christmas and a Happy
Hogmanay. Most important of all I wish you peace and good health through the
In Scotland we have a tradition of "First Footing" on January 1st when we
visit friends (or anyone - no person is every turned from your door at
Hogmanay) taking a lump of coal, a piece of black bun (a type of dark fruit
cake) and a nip of whisky. This is supposed to ensure the family warmth
(coal), food (bun) and happiness (whisky).
So to all of you "Slainthe Mha" and "Lang may your lum reek"
